Strong showing for Region I at US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Thanksgiving Interregional
The 2014 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Girls Thanksgiving Interregional concluded Friday at Spanish River Athletic Park in Boca Raton, Fla. with the 1997 and 1998 age groups. The five-day tournament featured elite girls teams in the 1997-2000 age groups from each of the four US Youth Soccer Regions.
Potomac DA-ECNL Review: Bethesda-Olney go unbeaten at home to Richmond United
With the Thanksgiving holiday just around the corner, competition continued apace in the United States Soccer Development Academy and the Elite Clubs National League for teams in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area. On the boys’ side, Bethesda-Olney won all three games over Potomac rivals Richmond United, while in the ECNL, FC Virginia and Richmond United’s girls sides looked strong against the Ohio Elite Soccer Academy and the Indiana Fire Juniors.

After four days of play, the US Youth Soccer National League Under-14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 Girls have solidified their spots in the standings until nearly half the field meets again Dec. 31-Jan. 2 in Orlando, Fla., where they will continue competing for a league title and a ticket to the 2015 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

Between the girls edition last weekend and the boys brackets that kick off on Friday, it’s been a busy stretch for the Bethesda Soccer Club and their Thanksgiving Tournament, featuring just shy of 1,000 Under-9 through U-19 teams taking the pitch in search of glory. But the club is looking out for less fortunate players, too, partnering with the Claudio Reyna Foundation to gather donated soccer gear for underprivileged kids.

NYC Mayor’s Cup: Public schools prove to be ‘Best in the City’
The 2014 NYC Mayor's Cup Soccer All-Star Games brought together the top high school seniors from the Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL), the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) and the independent schools as they competed for the right to call their league the "Best in the City" on November 15 and 16 at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn.
