Below are some of the top players from the weekend’s event sorted by graduation year. You can also nominate a player who stood out during the event through the following link.

2027

Lainey Chung

Defender
IL

Helped limit three strong 08 attacking teams in SJEB FC, NCFC Youth, and Pinecrest Premier to a goal each while playing up with Eclipse’s 09s. Her timely clears and tight marking gave her team chances to reorganize during critical stretches across the weekend.

Londyn Minor

Forward
MD

Scored three goals, including a brace against NCFC Courage, to help lead Pipeline to the top of Bracket A in the Elite Gold Division. Minor can taken even the smallest of gaps in a defense and immediately exploit them, using her strength and speed to force the opposition to play out of position. She is coming off of a high school with Howard’s Junior Varsity team in which she scored 25 goals.

Jane Moore | Midfielder-Forward
North Carolina FC Youth ECNL 08 (NC)

Hit the go-ahead goal for NCFC in their 2-0 win over Eclipse Select SC, hammering home a long-distance shot to defeat one of the top defensive teams in the ECNL. Moore off of the ball can force defenders out of position and create space for her teammates to pounce on. She is also an expert passer and was integral in their 3-2 win over SJEB FC, setting up Kate Crawford with a leading ball into open space. Moore scored 32 goals and added 15 assists last season for North Carolina.

———————

Makayla Rodriguez | Forward-Midfielder
Charlotte Soccer Academy ECNL 09 (NC)

Contributed four goals and an assist in CSA’s big weekend in the top bracket. Her constant pressure and goal-scoring ability led the team to an undefeated record against Iconz Elite (2-0), SJEB GA (3-0), and Tormenta FC (6-1).

———————

Samantha Shedd | Defender
North Carolina FC Youth ECNL 09 (NC)

Spearheaded the NCFC defense from the center-back position all weekend, limiting opponents to just two goals en route to the team earning a 2-0-1 record. In addition to her defensive prowess, she was also an asset on set pieces, scoring three goals off of corner kicks.

2026

Kally Prescott | Goalkeeper
North Carolina FC Youth ECNL 08 (NC)

Earned 14 saves across all three matches en route to three clean sheets for NCFC in their home showcase. While her saves were impressive, it was her command of the defense and building plays out of the back that proved to be the difference for her team. Facing significant pressure from the opposition, Prescott used her superior field vision to pick out teammates in open space and to chase.

———————

Camryn Zimmerman | Defender
North Carolina FC Youth ECNL 08 (NC)

Made an immediate impact on both offense and defense for NCFC during the showcase. Along the defensive line, Zimmerman made multiple clears during the matches against SJEB and Eclipse. She also effectively backed up their goalkeeper by making decisive slide tackle and stepping into open space to intercept goal-scoring opportunities. On the attacking end, she netted two assists including one in their Friday match against Pine Crest Premier.

2025

Madison Miller | Goalkeeper
Next Level Soccer Academy ECNL-RL 07 (NJ)

Captained NLSA to two shutouts against Tulsa Soccer Club (2-0) and Orlando City Soccer Club Lake NONA (3-0). When facing shots from distance, Miller showed that she was more than capable of timing her dives to make the save. In one-on-one situations with the opposition, she can take the perfect angle to help limit their chances at scoring.

———————

Lindsay Kinlaw | Forward
North Carolina FC Youth ECNL 07 (NC)

Scored a hat trick and added an assist to lift NCFC past Rush Canada 4-0 in their opening match in the U17 Showcase. Her diagonal runs toward goal were instrumental in sparking the attack all weekend long (she added a fourth goal in their 2-1 loss on Sunday) and she can hit a shot on target off of her first touch.

———————

Maya Lanier | Midfielder
Chicago Inter SC ECNL-RL 07 (IL)

Scored her fourth goal on the season for Chicago at the perfect moment, helping lift Inter past Alpharetta Ambush 4-3. Lanier is more than comfortable at driving at defenders forcing them to backtrack and giving her space to either hit a shot on target or find one of her teammates out on the wings. In addition to her success with Inter, Lanier was a member of the University High School team that won the 2023 IHSA State Championship.

2024

Cassis Yappen | Midfielder
PDA South ECNL-RL 06 (NJ)

Pulled the strings in the midfield for PDA, setting up attacking plays and maintaining possession for long portions of time. Her patience and ability to know when to pick up the pace helped PDA in victories over South Florida Football Academy and Charlotte Independence Soccer Club (both by 2-1 scorelines). She is coming off of a strong fall high school season at Lenape Valley, where she was named All-Conference First Team.

———————

Marissa Mackey | Defender
Rage Soccer Club 07 Press (PA)

Alongside her teammates, Mackey held opponents to just three goals over the course of the weekend, including earning a 4-0 shutout against Charlotte Soccer Academy DPL to cap the weekend. Mackey alternates between the outside back and center back positions and can make the key, decisive stop when called upon. She is also a highly accurate passer and can help her team build attacking plays from the back.

———————

Miya Diaz | Goalkeeper
West Florida Flames 05 DPL (FL)

Blanked three strong attacking teams in Tophat DPL (4-0), Richmond Strikers Elite 1 ECRL (2-0), and WPL Surf Academy (3-0) to push the Flames to the top of the Elite Gold Bracket B. Diaz has excellent footwork and can make the decisive stop in one-on-one situations with an opponent, providing them with limited space to get their shot off. She has committed to playing college soccer next season at Saint Vincent College.
