University of Louisville women’s soccer signs Autumn Weeks on transfer from IUPUI

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women’s soccer head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes and her staff announced that they have added transfer Autumn Weeks to its 2022 class.

“We are thrilled to add a player of Autumn’s caliber to our team this fall,” said Dayes. “She is extremely passionate about her growth and development as a player and we are excited to help her reach her potential. She is very athletic, she will be a defensive presence in the midfield for us physically and she’s a tireless worker.”

Weeks, a native of East Peoria, Ill., spent the previous three seasons at IUPUI, where she played in 45 games, making 42 starts, with five goals.

Last season, she was voted Second Team All-Horizon League and to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll after playing in 16 matches, all starts. She topped the team in minutes played (1,385), despite missing the final game of the season. She played significant time in the midfield and at a center back spot and helped anchor a group that had five shutouts and a 0.86 goals against average in league play.

In 2019 as a freshman, she played in all 20 matches, starting the final 17 of the season, and was voted to the Horizon League’s All-Freshman Team and to the IUPUI Academic Advisor’s List. She closed the year with three goals and 16 shot attempts, scoring both goals in the Jaguars’ 2-1 win over UIC.

At Peoria Notre Dame High School, she was a two-time All-Region and IHSSCA All-State performer. She earned IHSSCA All-Sectional honors her sophomore year. She helped lead Peoria Notre Dame to three straight sectional championships.
