University of Central Florida women’s soccer adds pair of transfers

ORLANDO, Fla. – Head coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak announced two additions to the University of Central Florida women’s soccer roster on Friday. Goalkeepers Brianna Waggoner and Lizah Pistorio will be joining the Knights for the 2021-22 campaign.

“This offseason it was a goal to strengthen our roster at the goalkeeper position. We’ve certainly done that by signing these two great keepers,” Head Coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak had to say of the additions. “Both Lizah and Brianna will join us already having significant experience playing at a high level at their prior universities. We can’t wait to see their contributions this fall.”

Waggoner, an Oviedo, Fla. native, joins Orlando’s Hometown Team after spending two seasons and a redshirt year with Florida Atlantic and not competing in the 2020-21 campaign. In her three games played, she holds a 2-0 record with two starts, allowing just two goals with four saves. Prior to her time with the Owls, Waggoner was a member of the Oviedo High School teams that won the 2016 and 2017 FHSAA Class 5A State Championships, was runner-up in 2015.

Pistorio joins the Knights as a redshirt sophomore by way of Ole Miss. She did not see any action during the 2020 season, her redshirt freshman campaign. A native of Charlotte, N.C., Pistorio is a three-time letterwinner at Providence Senior High School, where she helped lead the Panthers to a 2016 state championship. She was also named the team Defensive MVP in 2018.
