Dallas Cup and Dallas Cup Girls’ Invitational enter championship weekend

DALLAS, Texas – The 2023 Dallas Cup is set to kickoff “championship weekend” at Toyota Stadium in Frisco beginning this Friday.

On Wednesday, the matchups were determined for the Dallas Cup Girls’ Invitational finals, as well as the Gordon Jago Super Group semifinal matches that will take place at the home of FC Dallas this Friday.

The 2023 Dallas Cup Girls’ Invitational will play its championship matches, crowning new champions in four age divisions. This year, the Olympic Development Program (ODP) sent teams to participate in each of the girls’ divisions and will be well represented on Friday, in addition to local powerhouse Solar SC. The Australian School Girls will vie to become the first international Girls’ Invitational champion since the inaugural edition of the girls’ tournament in 2021.

On Friday, Toyota Stadium will also host the semi-final matches for the 19U Gordon Jago Super Group. In the elite boys bracket, international teams from four different countries advanced to the semis and will compete for a chance to play for coveted “Boot & Ball” trophy on Sunday, April 9. Real Madrid CF (ESP) will square off against Dallas Cup newcomer FC Midtjylland (DEN) in the first semifinal match at 5:00pm CT. The second semifinal will kick off at 7:30pm CT, featuring a pair of former Super Group champions, Sao Paulo FC (BRA) and Tigres UANL (MEX).

The games on Friday from Toyota Stadium will be aired live on ESPN3 throughout the United States. International viewers will be able to take in the action on the Dallas Cup platform, watch.dallascup.org.

ESPN3 (domestic) and watch.dallascup.org (international) will also carry the boys 13U-19U finals, including the Gordon Jago Super Group, that are set to be played Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9 from Toyota Stadium.

The 12 & Under boys division in the 2023 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola will also conclude on Friday at Toyota Soccer Center. The match will be livestreamed globally on watch.dallascup.org.
