Coastal Carolina University men’s soccer signs four newcomers for Spring 2022
CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina men’s soccer head coach Shaun Docking has announced the addition of four newcomers that will join the Chanticleers starting this spring in Michael Vogel (Las Vegas, Nev./Cal State Bakersfield), Ethan Stevenson (Clover S.C./Winthrop), Bachir Gueye (Coram, N.Y./Albany), and Dylan Vadnais (Comfort, Texas/San Antonio FC Academy).
Vogel comes to CCU from Cal State Bakersfield (CSUB), where he played for the Roadrunners from 2019-21. The Las Vegas, Nev. native, appeared in 34 matches with18 starts, logging 1,792 total minutes for the Roadrunners. He notched four goals and three assists for a total of 11 points for CSUB while attempting 28 shots, placing 11 shots on goal.
A native of Clover, S.C., Stevenson appeared in 18 matches his freshman season, earning 15 starts as a forward. He logged 1,192 total minutes on the pitch – including a career-high 91 against Radford. Stevenson earned 16 total points on five goals and six assists while attempting 32 shots, placing 15 shots on goal for the Eagles. He was also named to the All-Big South Freshman Team and All-Big South Tournament Team.
Gueye, a native of Coram, N.Y., comes to CCU after previously attending Albany. He was named a two-time all-conference and Team MVP selection while playing at Longwood High School. Gueye also appeared in the Suffolk All-Star game.
A product of the San Antonio FC Academy, Vadnais spent three years as a center back in the system while graduating Summa Cum Laude from Texas Connections Academy at Houston.
Also returning to the roster is redshirt junior Jason Kemble after sitting out last season while recovering from an injury.
Also joining CCU this spring are newcomers Aiden Cardella, Arroli Takela, Anthony Rouse, Paul Morelli, Noah Alsterlind, Randy Burkhardt, and Cole Longo.
The Chanticleers finished their first season as a member of Conference USA (C-USA) 6-5-4 overall and 3-1-4 in conference play, including a 5-2-2 mark at home.
