New York youth player fights through brain surgery to play one more game
TSW: New York City area youth soccer player Dominique Cruz has missed more than three years of her high school athletic career since undergoing brain surgery as a 13-year-old. Cruz will make her anticipated return to the pitch on Wednesday as she joins her U-17 club team Brentwood SC Pride 97 at the Disney Soccer Showcase in Orlando, Florida.
Bridgette Andrzejewski caps strong club, high school season with NSCAA honor
McDonogh School in Owings Mill, Md. have seen another one of their players earn national recognition, as midfielder Bridgette Andrzejewski was named High School Girls Player of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

TSW: Mixed in with the well-known ECNL and Development Academy member clubs in the Tri-State area is one of the deepest talent pools anywhere in the country, where premier players and teams emerge even from lesser-known clubs. One such team is the East Islip SC Red Storm U15 girls, who recently closed an already remarkable 2014 campaign with a championship at the prestigious Massapequa Winter Showcase.

PSW: Bridgette Andrzejewski and Connor Smith, both of McDonogh School in Maryland, have been named among the 22 NSCAA Players of the Year announced on Thursday. TSW: Lorena White (Monroe College) and Joseph Lopez (Suffolk County Community College) are among the 22 NSCAA Players of the Year, announced on Thursday.

Immense talent on display at PA Classics Winter Showcase Girls Weekend
PSW: The Arundel Soccer Association Premier 99’s represented Maryland well by outscoring three top Pennsylvania East squads by a total of 12-1 to take Bracket B of the PA Classics Winter Showcase U15 Championship Division with a 3-0-0 record.
