Xavier signs defender Madison Ayson on transfer from Stanford

CINCINNATI – Xavier women’s soccer announced the addition of transfer, Madison Ayson, to the 2023 roster. Ayson spent four seasons at Stanford, playing primarily as a defender for the Cardinal.

Ayson, originally from Rocklin, Calif., played in 44 games at Stanford, starting in five, totaling 1,195 minutes and taking part in 24 shutouts with a program that was the 2019 NCAA Champions and two-time Pac-12 Champions (2019, 2022), during her career.

During the 2022 season, Ayson played in 10 games, making three starts, and helping Stanford to five shutouts in games she appeared in. She recorded four shots, three on goal, in 375 minutes of action for the Cardinal who claimed the Pac-12 Championship.

She recorded her first collegiate goal in 2021 against San Diego State, appearing in 13 matches, including seven shutouts, and played 247 minutes that season.

As a sophomore, she played in eight matches, making two starts, recording 342 minutes. She finished with one shot and helped the Cardinal to two shutouts.

During her freshman season, Ayson played in 13 matches, helping the Cardinal to 10 shutouts in those matches. She totaled 231 minutes for the Pac-12 and NCAA Champions.
