Florida Gators sign midfielder Emily Yaple on transfer from Pitt

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida soccer is adding midfielder Emily Yaple (pronounced YAH-pull) to the 2023 Gator roster. Yaple comes to the Gators as a graduate transfer after playing three seasons at Pittsburgh and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
“We are thrilled to add Emily to our program,” said Florida head coach Samantha Bohon. “She embodies the student, person, player model at a very high level. We expect Emily to offer valuable experience in our attack and continue to reinforce the competitive atmosphere we’ve built in training. Off the field, Emily has shown a strong commitment to her academic pursuits and will take full advantage of the top 5 education offered at Florida. She’s a great culture addition and we can’t wait for the fall.”
Yaple graduated magna cum laude from Pittsburgh with her bachelor’s degree in marketing in December of 2022. She begins her Sports Management master’s studies at UF in fall of 2023.
She joins 11 other newcomers for the 2023 season. Eight signed with Florida last fall. Two transfers and an early high school graduate joined the Gator team this spring.
