Colorado College women’s soccer signs forward Haley Harnisch on transfer

Haley Harnisch, who played for the University of Colorado during the 2021 spring season, will join the Colorado College women’s soccer program for the upcoming 2021 fall season, head coach Geoff Bennett announced.

Harnisch was highly recruited following a stellar career at the Real Colorado Development Academy and will have four years of eligibility at CC.

“We are thrilled to be able to add a dynamic goal scorer in Hayley,” Bennett said. “Hayley was a prolific goal scorer for her National Championship club team up at Real, and we look forward to seeing her score many goals at Colorado College for years to come.”

During the 2019-20 season, Harnisch averaged 1.2 goals per game, which ranked No. 9 nationally and No. 3 in the Central Division on the United States Development Academy’s scoring charts. In addition to leading Real Colorado in goals, she ranked second in assists.

During her U17 season, Harnisch was the leading scorer for the Real Colorado side that won the 2018 U.S. Development Academy national championship.

Harnisch competed at the U.S. Soccer Training Center(s) from 2014-2018 and won the Golden Boot Award in the annual futsal tournament. She also was a member of the Colorado State Olympic Development Team for two years, and helped lead the team to the final of the Region IV Championship in 2016 and a semifinal appearance in 2015.

Most recently in her first collegiate season, Harnisch played in three games for CU-Boulder, which finished fifth in the Pac-12 and earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Division I Championship.

Prior to joining Real Colorado, Harnisch produced six goals and 13 assists as a freshman at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo. She was unable to continue playing high school soccer due to development academy rules.

Harnisch, who was enrolled in the Honors Program in CU’s Leeds Business School, graduated summa cum laude from Valor Christian where she was a member of the National Honor Society and received the AP Scholar Award.
