    The BB&T Soccer Park at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C. will host the Girls' Development Academy Spring Showcase from April 6-10, 2018. The showcase will be the initial Girls' Academy event as 2017-18 marks the inaugural season for the program.

    It took 120 minutes and nine penalty kick attempts to crown a winner in the first U-17/18 semifinal game of the Development Academy Championships Friday night. In the end, Texans SC Houston scored in stoppage time of the second half to send the game into extra time, where, after a scoreless 30 minutes, the Texas team outlasted Colorado Rapids 3-2 on penalties.

    The quarterfinal match-ups of the 2017 Development Academy Playoffs were set following Monday's final round of the group stage at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind.
