University of Miami adds eighth member to 2021 incoming class
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head soccer coach Sarah Barnes announced Friday the signing of Adrianna Serna.
A 5-foot-3 defender who hails from Las Vegas, Serna attends Palo Verde High School. She becomes the eighth member of the Hurricanes’ 2021 incoming class.
“We’re excited for Adrianna to join the Miami program,” Barnes said. “She plays for Heat FC out of Las Vegas and is a leader in their back four. They emphasize an environment of competitiveness and possession-oriented soccer that will help her transition to the ACC level. Adrianna is athletic, plays physical and is composed on the ball, which has prepared her to be a contender on our back line.”
A member of Heat FC ECNL, Serna has anchored the club’s center back position for the past 10 years. Most recently, Vera was selected to play in the first ever ECNL National Selection Game, was invited to an id2 National Camp and was selected to play in the conference selection program in the U.S. mountain region.
Serna joins Jordan Felton, Skylah Klein, Claire Llewellyn, Lauren Meeks, Maya Rogers, Hallie Salas and Mikayla Tupper in Miami’s 2021 recruiting class.
