Players to Watch: North Carolina FC Youth 2024 Girls College Showcase
The NCFC Youth Girls College Showcase is coming up December 6-8, as many of the nation’s top teams will go head-to-head in Raleigh, NC.
Played alongside the NCAA Women’s College Cup, the NCFC Youth Girls College Showcase will feature over 600 teams from the ECNL, Girls Academy and other competitive leagues. Regarded as one of the premier showcases in the country, the NCFC Youth College Showcase attracts hundreds of college coaches on an annual basis. (ATTENDING SCOUTS)
Ahead of the NCFC Youth Girls College Showcase, here are some players to know for the tournament. Players are listed according to their graduation year.

2028
One of the leading goal scorers for a Fairfax Virginia Union 2010 squad which finished second in the ECNL’s Mid-Atlantic Conference last season. Ambrose has garnered US Club Soccer id2 National ID Selection honors and has represented the Virginia State ODP roster pool. In ECNL action this season, she has helped Fairfax Virginia Union vault to 1st place on the Mid-Atlantic table.
Isabella is a skillful, agile and fast playmaker capable of utilizing in-game awareness to deliver accurate passes, assists and/or deliver strikes to goal utilizing her left and right feet. She is a very determined player who thrives when providing well-placed crosses in to the box, setting up scoring opportunities for her teammates.

Sophie Holcomb | Midfielder / Forward
Charlotte Independence ECNL ’09 (NC)
Coming off a standout 2023-24 ECNL campaign in which she earned ECNL Mid-Atlantic Conference First Team honors, Holcomb has continued her attacking success this fall with Charlotte Independence ’09. She sees the field well and accelerates with suddenness in the final third, making her hard for defenders to read and predict. (HIGHLIGHTS)

Isabella Kelsey | Goalkeeper
Baltimore Celtic GA ’10 (MD)
A highly-rated goalkeeper from the Class of 2028, Kelsey was called up by U.S. Soccer for the U.S. U-14 Girls National Team ID Camp in March 2024 as one of just two keepers to represent the East Region. Kelsey also earned a selection for the Girls Academy’s Mid-Atlantic Talent ID Showcase in May 2024.

Representing the Triangle United ’09 Girls Academy squad, Baruch is a creative forward who has garnered youth national team experience with Antigua and Barbuda. She’s the leading scorer for a Triangle United side which currently sits atop the GA’s South Central Region.
Well-established as one of the more talented Class of 2027 defenders in Northern Virginia, Malace is a speedy and versatile player who can excel at any spot on the back line. Malace has extensive ECNL Playoff experience, marking some of the top attacking players in the country.
Featured by SoccerWire as a “Player That Impressed” following her standout performance at the 2023 NCFC Showcase, Jane comes into 2024 once again leading her team in points from the attacking center midfield position. This year’s Shield Award winner, Jane orchestrates the offense by gaining and maintaining possession, breaking lines and finding open players to press the attack. Ana Tornabene | Midfielder
Richmond United ECNL ’09 (VA)
Tornabene is a force in the midfield for a Richmond United ’09 squad which currently sits at the top of the table in the ECNL Mid-Atlantic Conference, with an unbeaten 9-0-1 record (As of Nov. 22). She is coming off a First Team All-Conference selection in the 2023-24 season, and is a star player as well for Richmond’s Collegiate School.

Peyton Seward | Goalkeeper
Richmond United ECNL ’08 (VA)
Heading into showcase season, Peyton Seward (2027) and her U17 Richmond United ’08 ECNL team are sitting at 7-0-3 in Mid-Atlantic play this fall, and have an astounding 24-3-6 record since Dec. 1, 2023. In 16 games this fall, Peyton’s sure hands, 1v1 stopping ability, dominance against corners and solid overall team defense have allowed only 4 goals while she has been in net. Peyton and her teammates look to continue their successful run as they face solid competition in their upcoming showcases.

NC Courage Academy ECNL ’09 (NC)
Another First Team ECNL Girls All-Conference player from the Mid-Atlantic, Schmidt was a star on the pitch all season long for the Courage. She turned heads at the 2024 Jefferson Cup in March, earning SoccerWire Players That Impressed honors for her performance.

Kendall Watson | Midfielder
NC Courage Academy ECNL ’09 (NC)
Watson is coming off a season in which she was honored as a First Team ECNL Girls Mid-Atlantic Conference selection. She shined in the midfield at the 2024 Jefferson Cup and ECNL South Carolina National Event, and has earned high ratings for both her attacking and defensive abilities.

Lily Hammitt | Midfielder
Atlanta Fire United ECNL RL ’09 (GA)
The attacking midfielder has scored 7 goals and tallied 7 assists during the Fall 2024 season, in ECNL Regional League action. Hammitt can play multiple positions, also shining on the left wing as a left-footed player.

Mathers is a 1v1 shutdown defender who loves to use her speed and grit to make life tough for wingers and then break lines out of the back with the ball. She has a motor that never quits and rarely misses the opportunity to create offensive opportunities with her great off-ball awareness and high IQ. A Class 4A All-State high school forward playing outside back, Mathers is a true dual threat for Charlotte Independence 2008 ECNL.

Logan Smith | Midfielder
NCFC Youth ECNL ’08 (NC)
Smith has had a solid season anchoring the midfield as a strong #6. She is the first line of defense, organizes midfield coverage, makes hard tackles, and often jump starts the counterattack. Although playing the CDM position, she is a true box-to-box midfielder and will be seen all over the field. Integral to the NCFC attack as well, Smith breaks lines, strings together passes and makes dangerous runs looking for her shot. She has tallied 2 goals and 2 assists this season for NCFC (As of Nov. 22).

Leah Flannery | Midfielder
Richmond United ECNL ’08 (VA)
Coming off a season-ending injury in January, Flannery just returned in October to help anchor a strong midfield and backline for Richmond United. Before her injury, Flannery shined at the ECNL Florida Event early in the year. She has an attacking mindset while also being one of the better 1v1 defenders out there. Richmond United is currently undefeated at 7-0-3 in Mid-Atlantic play and sits in 3rd place in a highly-competitive conference.

Abby Myers | Defender
Richmond United ECNL ’08 (VA)
Last year, Abby propelled her ECNL Regional League team to a 5th place finish, and hasn’t looked back as she now competes for Richmond’s ECNL national squad. With a regular season record of 7-0-3, she has featured on a Richmond United defense which as posted 6 clean sheets in 10 games. A shutdown central defender who can turn around, break lines and lead an attack, Abby’s versatility is what stands out as she heads to North Carolina.

Aida Evans | Midfielder
The St. James FC GA ’08 (VA)
Aida is a tenacious 2026 midfielder, who has just returned from playing in France for the past 3 years and will be debuting in Raleigh for her first U.S. showcase. As captain, she led the American School of Paris varsity team to the ISST championship in Vienna in 2023 and took home the trophy in London. Aida was recently named to the VA State ODP pool.
