Gonzaga men’s soccer adds Idaho native Chris Swider to recruiting class

SPOKANE, Wash.Gonzaga University men’s soccer head coach Aaron Lewis announced the addition of forward/midfielder Chris Swider ahead of the Fall 2021 season.

A native of Hayden, Idaho, Swider will be a freshman on the Zags’ 2021 roster. The talented attacker played for Coeur d’Alene High School. He scored 30 goals and recorded 17 assists while playing for the Vikings. This past season as a senior, Swider found the back of the net 14 times, while being credited with five assists.

Swider boasts a 4.24 grade point average, 4.0 unweighted, in the classroom. He was an Idaho Top-10 percent scholar. While taking AP/Honors Curriculum, he has been named to the school’s honor roll. Swider was the Senior Class Vice President at CHS.

Swider was the ODP Region IV pool player twice, attended the ODP Region IV Camp five times, and was on the Idaho State ODP team for five seasons. He played one year with the Eastern Washington EPD team.
