RICHMOND, VA (Via ECNL)– Players across the country will be signing their National Letters of Intent (NLI) today and committing to the next stage of their soccer journey. This year’s graduating class of the Girls Elite Clubs National League (Girls ECNL) has once again set the national standard.

A total of 1,156 players in the Girls ECNL Class of 2019 will go on to play soccer at the collegiate level this fall, with 847 players committed to play in NCAA Division I programs.

“Congratulations to all of the Girls ECNL players who will be continuing their playing careers at the collegiate level,” said ECNL Commissioner, Jen Winnagle. “These players have worked incredibly hard, proven themselves on the top stage of female youth soccer, and should be incredibly proud of their achievement.  We are excited to see them compete collegiately next fall, joining more than 10,000 other ECNL alums who have transformed collegiate soccer over the past decade.”

The class of 2019 is comprised of Amazing Young Women who will be playing at multiple collegiate soccer levels:

  • Girls ECNL Class of 2019: 1,629
  • Total Players Playing Collegiate Soccer: 1,156
  • Division I: 847
  • Division II, III, NAIA + Other: 309
  • Undecided: 458

Even more players will join this list as final college decisions are made by undecided players in the class of 2019 in the coming months.

The ECNL College Impact tracks the number of Girls ECNL alums playing soccer in college, and shows an impressive increase year after year. The Girls ECNL’s impact on the NWSL professional league has also been significant, with 65% of the 2018 NWSL draftees being ECNL Alums.
