Players Development Academy (7-1-0, 21 points) remain atop of the Atlantic Division after having defeated New York City FC 2-1 on Sunday. It was a close match from the start of the first half with the two sides trading attacking chances, only neither team able to hit the back of the net. The second half was a different story with forward Diego Trujillo scoring the go-ahead goal for PDA in the 42nd minute. While NYCFC got a goal of their own just five minutes later from Simon Adjakple, PDA earned got all three points thanks to midfielder Ethan Hagen’s strike in the 75th minute.

While PDA remained at the top of the Atlantic the Philadelphia Union (4-0-1, 13 points) kept the pressure on their New Jersey counterpart, defeating Continental FC DELCO (2-5-0, 6 points) 3-0 to remain in second. Zion Scarlett (42’), Myles Culley (50’) and Sawyer Koza (55’) supplied the goals for the Union. Philadelphia’s balanced attack was on full display over the weekend and is a large part of their early success in the season. Thirteen of the Union’s U-15 side have at least one goal in their 2018-2019 campaign.

In the Northeast Division, the Montreal Impact (6-0-1, 19 points) are still unbeaten after defeating Seacoast United (0-4-1, 1 point) 6-1. Mael Henry (13’), Gabriel Antinoro (22’ and 45’), Maximilan Banfi (31’), Jean Aniel-Assi (34’) and Jordan Therrien (42’) supplied the goals for the Impact. Antinoro’s two goals pushes him to twelve on the season, which is the most among all players in the U-15 age bracket.

The Boston Bolts (7-1-0, 21 points) were one of the other big winners on the weekend, securing a 4-2 road win over FC Westchester (1-7-0, 3 points). Westchester actually got the lead early with a goal from James Baculima in the 9th minute of the match. But Boston got two late goals in the first half to give themselves the lead. Midfielders Anthony Ruscito and Alexzander Sansiveri scored in the 36th and 40th minutes respectively. In the second the Bolts added a pair of insurance goals with forward Wade Johnson (65’) and midfielder Lucas Vallejo Tato (77’) each hitting the back of the net. A Daniel Istambouli penalty kick goal in the 80th minute gave Westchester a glimmer hope but it was too little, too late.

Sitting in third after the weekend is Oakwood Soccer Club (6-2-0, 18 points), who earned the 3-1 win over New York Soccer Club (2-3-0, 6 points) on Saturday. Oakwood’s precision passing and work on the counter-attack in the form of goals from forward Cameron Naples (4’) and midfielder Gabriel Aguero (42’). While NYSC did get a goal back in the second half from forward Victor Bernardez (41’), Oakwood snuffed out any hopes of a comeback. Aguero’s second goal of the match in the 42nd minute and some impressive goalkeeping Morgan Lopes was enough to give Oakwood their second consecutive win.

In the Southeast, Orlando City SC (4-0-0, 12 points) remain perfect having defeated Armada FC Pro Academy (2-3-1, 7 points) 3-2 in a close match on Saturday. Armada took the lead early in the second with a pair of goals from Sahyd Nevado-Masso (26’) and David Robinson (30’). But Orlando’s attack came roaring back in the second half, getting three unanswered goals from Zachary Martens (40’), Pierce Amalberti (80’), and an Armada own goal in the 55th minute to put them over the top. Winning close games is becoming a bit of a habit for The Purple Lions as three of their four wins have come by a goal or less.

Sitting in second is the Concorde Fire (5-1-0, 15 points) who took care of Atlanta United FC (3-3-0, 9 points) on Sunday by the score of 3-1. Much like Orlando, Concorde had to work to stay at the top of the table, falling behind at the tail end of the first half off of a goal from defender Caleb Wiley (40’). But their attack showed life in the second half getting three goals from defender Quinlan Delamater (47’), Daniel Bartlett (55’) and Julian Balcazar (68’). Goalkeeper Andrew Gresham and defenders Delamater, Kevin Jo, and Carlos Garcia all played the full 80 and were integral Atlanta’s attack as they mounted a comeback.
