Charlotte men’s soccer unveils 8-player signing class

Charlotte, N.C. – Head coach Kevin Langan and the nationally-ranked Charlotte 49ers men’s soccer program announced the addition of eight newcomers to the 2020 roster. Five of the eight newcomers are from the greater Charlotte area.

The Niners welcome Jordan Charles from Charlotte, North Carolina, Justin Deffenbaugh from Mooresville, North Carolina, Carson Griffith from Gastonia, North Carolina, Daniel Kuzemka from Clifton, Virginia, Jonathan Nyandjo from Charlotte, North Carolina, Yang Scofano from Charleston, South Carolina, Andre Vicharelli from Mooresville, North Carolina and Alex Willis from Faversham, England to the 2020 roster.

Langan had this to say about the incoming class: “We are delighted to welcome the 2020 recruiting class to Charlotte. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them during the recruiting process and we can’t wait to get them on the field competing. They have all had wonderful careers to date and we anticipate that they will compete for playing time immediately. The challenge for them now is to embrace the Charlotte way of playing and competing every day. Special thanks to (associate head coach) Jason Osborne and (assistant coach) Brian Edwards for all their diligent work during the recruiting journey.”

Charlotte, which has been to 14 NCAA Tournaments in program history, returns 17 letterwinners and nine starters from last season’s NCAA Tournament team.
