Bethesda-Olney U-15/16s take over Development Academy playoff spot with wins over FC DELCO, Baltimore Bays
This weekend in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Atlantic Division, Richmond United and D.C. United faced off on a club-wide basis, and Bethesda-Olney teams took advantage of favorable match-ups to gain valuable ground in the playoff chase. The Olney U-15/16 and U-17/18 sides combined to go 4-0-0 against Continental FC DELCO and Baltimore Bays, as the U-15/16s took over a playoff spot and the U-17/18s pulled within fractions of a point of taking over a spot as well.
Maryland United FC adds high profile coaches to ECNL and boys coaching staff
Maryland United FC has added former D.C. United Academy coach Jon Norem to the boys coaching staff and Ohio Elite coach David Stockum to the ECNL staff. Stockum will oversee the club's U-16 and U-17 ECNL teams, while Norem will work on the boys side of the club.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC expand Pre-Residency into full-time school program
Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Monday that the club's Pre-Residency program has expanded into a full-time school program, joining the U-18 and U-16 Residency teams at Burnaby Central Secondary School. The club also announced that Bart Choufour has joined Whitecaps FC full-time as Pre-Residency and Academy Centres director and head coach.

U.S. U-15 BNT wins Tournament delle Nazioni with 3-2 victory over Austria
The U.S. Under-15 Boys' National Team defeated Austria 3-2 to win the 12th Tournament delle Nazioni today in Gradisca D’Isonzo, Italy. Andrew Carleton scored two first-half goals and Tim Weah added a score in the second half, as the team was able to hold off Austria to take home the tournament title.
New York Red Bulls partner with Ironbound SC
The New York Red Bulls and Ironbound Soccer Club have announced a local partnership between the two clubs. The partnership will help foster the development of Ironbounds’ youth players of all ages by providing hands-on instruction from certified Red Bulls youth coaches.

US Youth Soccer Region 1 2001 Boys ODP team places 4th of 36 in Italy Tournament
The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) Boys Region I 2001 team recently completed a trip to Italy to participate in the Piccole Grandi Squadre Tournament. Region I netted a top-four finish in a tournament that featured 36 teams with European youth national teams, as well as academy teams from prestigious clubs in Italy among the field. Lorenzo Gordon, Ryan Levay, Dennis Mensah, Alexander Robles, Jack Ruddy, Tyler Smith and Garret Socas represented Virginia for the Region I squad.
