(Via Vienna Youth Soccer) – Vienna Youth Soccer has promoted Kevin James to the position of technical director. In his new role, Kevin will have oversight of the Club’s House (Recreation) and Travel soccer programs and will focus on player development and enhancing the player experience.

Prior to joining VYS, Kevin served as Technical Director for Culpeper Soccer Association and was an ODP staff coach. His Super Y experience includes being a member of the Super Y Regional Staff in 2016. Kevin holds a USSF B license, a USSF National Youth Coaching License and a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. Since joining VYS, Kevin has helped move the Club forward in several areas. He has been instrumental in establishing the Club’s participation in the summer Super-Y league, VYS’ inclusion in the Virginia Development Academy, the launch of a Winter Futsal league for the younger Travel age groups, and the roll-out of an Athletic Conditioning Program with Explosive Performance at Sport & Health. Kevin has also supported stabilizing and strengthening the Club’s coaching staff and has helped establish a dedicated Travel goalkeeper coaching program.

Kevin’s passion and dedication to VYS have been hallmarks of his contribution to the Club. Robert Lesjak, VYS President, stated “We are pleased with the leadership Kevin has demonstrated on and off the field and wish to carry forward that positive momentum for the benefit of our players and members across the Club.” Through his approach to both players and families, Kevin has become a role model of the culture VYS wishes to cultivate.
