U.S. U-17 MNT draws Tanzania 1-1 at AIFF Youth Cup in India

GOA, India (Via U.S. Soccer) – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team drew against Tanzania 1-1 in its first match of the 2016 AIFF Youth Cup in Goa, India.

The U.S. grabbed the first goal as defender Jean-Julien Foe Nuphaus assisted Ayomide Akinola in just the third minute of the match. In the 15th minute, Tanzania’s Mohamed Rashid Abdallah equalized, and although the USA dominated offensively, it couldn’t find the winning goal as the game ended with a 1-1 scoreline.

The same day, India came back to tie Malaysia 2-2 in second half stoppage time. All four teams earned one point in the first match, while South Korea remains with zero points as its first match is on May 19.

The USA will face India in its next match on May 19 at 10:30 p.m. ET.
