The Potomac Soccer Wire Korrio Player to Watch Award is intended to recognize exciting young players in the Mid-Atlantic region those who produce notable achievements or display exceptional talent. The award is open to boys’ and girls’ players playing under-14 or older, including those who have already begun their college careers. Selection criteria may include individual and team accomplishments, as well as meaningful off-field activities or evidence that the player has overcome significant personal challenges to attain success in the game.

Nominations may be submitted by anyone familiar with a player of note using the form at the bottom of this page. Potomac Soccer Wire’s editorial staff will investigate all nominations and will make all decisions on which player(s) to recognize. With each new monthly announcement of players, a press release will be sent to regional media outlets and the awards posted on this page and in our popular email newsletter, which is sent every Tuesday and Friday to over 13,500 regional subscribers.

Korrio Boys’ Player To Watch, August 2012: Dale Ludwig
The, 5-foot-7 inch Ludwig, who plays for the Under-18 SOCA Lightning and Fluvanna County High School, has distinguished himself on the soccer field as a creative, attacking player and has emerged as a key player on Virginia’s 1995 Olympic Development Program team that won a national championship in 2011 and finished as runners-up in 2012, with Ludwig’s semifinal goal proving the difference for the team to reach the final.

Korrio Girls’ Player To Watch, August 2012: Annah Lindberg
Annah Lindberg had a remarkable high school season, as the Forest Park forward finished with 27 goals and nine assists this spring in helping lead the team to an 18-1 record and winning a Cardinal District regular season and tournament title.
