US Youth Soccer National League teams win 13-of-14 Midwest Regional titles

FRISCO, Texas — Teams from the US Youth Soccer National League produced standout results at the 2021 USYS Midwest Regional Championships in St. Louis, Mo., as they captured 13 of 14 Regional titles.

The competition at the Midwest Regional Championships included teams from two different National League Conferences — the Great Lakes and Midwest. In all, 44 of 56 semifinalists played in one of the conferences during the 2020-21 season, and 25 of the 28 finalists were conference teams.

The Great Lakes Conference led the way with seven Midwest Regional Champions, along with seven additional finalists and 20 total semifinalists. Six champions came from the Midwest Conference, which also had five additional finalists and 24 total semifinalists.

The 14 Midwest Regional Champions now advance to the 2021 USYS National Championships, which will be played July 20-25 at the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

National League teams have a long history of success at the USYS National Championships. Between 2007 and 2019, teams that competed in the national tier of the National League captured a combined 77 of 100 possible USYS National Championships.
