University of Richmond women’s soccer brings in five freshmen for 2021

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women’s soccer head coach Marty Beall announced the addition of five freshmen for the 2021 season. This class is comprised of two forwards, one defender and two midfielders.

Emma Coleman (Vienna, Va.), Elle Dziadzio (Bernardsville, N.J.), Peyton Galli (Encinitas, Calif.), JoJo McShane (Philadelphia, Pa.), Audrey Weir (Virginia Beach, Va.) will enroll at Richmond in the fall and join the Spiders for the upcoming season.

“I’m extremely excited to officially announce our incoming freshmen class,” Beall said. “We took a huge step forward as a program when they committed to joining our Spider family. Each of these young ladies are proven winners and leaders within their teams. I’m confident each player will make a positive impact on our program immediately, both on the field and off the field.”

Emma Coleman – Forward – Vienna, Va. – The St. James FC Virginia

Coleman is a forward from James Madison High School in Vienna, Va. She is a two-time Girls Academy Weekly Standout honoree (top drawer soccer) and helped her club team (FC Virginia 03) be ranked No. 13th nationally. Coleman also ran varsity track in high school and competed in the 55-meters and 4×200 events making it to Regionals. She is a stellar student being on the All “A” Honor Roll from 9th-12th grade. Coleman plays for the FC Virginia club team.

Elle Dziadzio – Defender – Bernardsville, N.J. – Match Fit Academy

Dziadzio is a defender from the Pingry School in Bernardsville, N.J. She is a four-year varsity starter and was named team captain in 2020. Dziadzio was named a 2020 NJ.com Top-50 Girls Soccer defender and a top-85 Girls Soccer Seniors. She was named NJ.com MVP standout from the state championship game in 2019. Her team is a two-time South Non-Public A State Champion in 2018 and 2019. Dziadzio helped her club team (Match Fit Academy) qualify for the ECNL National Playoffs in three-straight years (2017, 2018, 2019).

Peyton Galli – Midfielder – Encinitas, Calif. – San Diego Surf

Galli is a midfielder from La Costa High School in Encinitas, Calif. Galli helped the San Diego Surf Soccer club to the 2019 Final eight in the nation (semi-finals and finals were canceled due to COVID-19). Galli led the team in assists three years in a row (2017, 2018, 2019). Her club team (San Diego Surf 03) was a finalist in several elite tournaments. Galli also played varsity Lacrosse in high school and was a three-year starter. She was an ECNL team captain from 2016-18.

JoJo McShane – Forward – Philadelphia, Pa. – PDA South

McShane is a forward from Springside Chestnut Academy in Philadelphia, Pa. McShane was named the Offensive MVP for Springside Chestnut Academy (SCH) in 2019, landed on the First Team All Inter AC MVP of the Inter-Ac league and All-State. She was named to the All-American Watch list for her senior season. McShane helped her team go 12-0 in the Inter-Ac league coming in first for the first time in school history. McShane plays club soccer for the PDA South ECNL.

Audrey Weir – Midfielder – Virginia Beach, Va. – Beach FC

Weir is a midfielder from Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach, Va. She helped her club team (Beach FC) win the 2019 State cup, the 2019 Wags Tournament and a two-time league champion in 2018-19. Weir was selected to the USSF NTC Regional combine and a US Club Soccer iD2 training camp. She also played varsity Lacrosse in high school and was the second-best goal scorer in the league. Weir is a three-star recruit and currently ranked No. 18 in the Mid-Atlantic Region according to TopDrawerSoccer.com.
