U.S. U-19 MNT earns 1-0 victory over Mauritania in COTIF Tournament

VALENCIA, Spain (Via U.S. Soccer) – The U.S. Under-19 Men’s National Team defeated Mauritania 1-0 in its second match at the 2016 COTIF Tournament, to stay alive in Group A play.

While most of the first half looked to go both ways, the USA gained momentum and took the lead just minutes before halftime as Djordie Mihailovic tallied the game-winner in the 40th minute. The goal was enough to seal the USA’s victory and keep the team in a position to push for a spot in the semifinals.

The U.S. will face Spain on July 29 at 4:30 p.m. ET.
