PWSI Holiday Shootout completes 2015 event
The 2015 PWSI Holiday Shootout was played over the weekend at Howison Park. A total of 54 teams representing clubs from Maryland, New York and the host state of Virginia attended the 7v7 and 8v8 tournament featuring U-10 through U-13 brackets.
Like all PWSI Tournaments, the event features a charity aspect, this one supporting the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive by asking every participant to donate a toy for underprivileged children.
On the field, each attending team played three matches over the course of the weekend on small-sided turf fields. Participating clubs included Arlington Soccer Association, Calvert-Elite SC, Gunston SC, McLean Youth Soccer, Virginia Soccer Association, Warrenton Youth Sports Club, VISTA, Annandale United FC, Commonwealth Futbol Club, Chantilly Youth Association, CapitalFC, Old Dominion FC, Southwestern Youth Association (SYA), Bellmore SC, FC Virginia, Potomac Soccer Association, Fairfax Police Youth Club (FPYC) and host club Prince William Courage.
