Over 90 ECNL Girls teams set for San Diego National Event
It’s finally that time of year again.
The ECNL season has been underway since August, but this weekend brings the league’s first national event, something every athlete and team looks forward to every season.
ECNL San Diego will feature more than 90 teams from more than 35 clubs, ranging from Pre-ECNL ages (U11 and U12) to the U14 age group, and it will be the first time these young age groups experience an ECNL national event. The atmosphere, the competition, the sisterhood, and more will be on display for the first time at ECNL San Diego, while kickstarting an amazing journey through the ECNL for years to come. Not only will it be the first ECNL national event for these athletes, but for clubs like Beach FC and Legends FC, this will be their first-ever national event as members of the ECNL Club Competition. Both clubs joined the ECNL Club Competition after dominating seasons in the ECNL Regional League last year – and they’re diving right in, battling tough teams throughout the weekend.
While there will be newcomers at ECNL San Diego, there will also be many long-time clubs from across the west looking forward to the opportunity to measure themselves against top opponents from other conferences.

ECNL Players of the Year were also announced.
Over 75 more teams will play in the Champions League.
The changes will take effect in the 2021-22 season.
