Loudoun Soccer College Showcase 2020 set to feature 240 teams from 12 states

LEESBURG, VIRGINIA — The ninth annual Loudoun Soccer College Showcase will be held March 6-8 in Loudoun County, Va. featuring 240 teams from 12 different states.

This tournament boasts friendly competition against elite teams in a college showcase setting. The Loudoun Soccer College Showcase offers each team competitive games in preparation for the spring season as well as excellent exposure for players to pursue college soccer careers. Hosted by Loudoun Soccer, the largest youth soccer club in Virginia, this tournament is paramount in highlighting the Club’s tradition of promoting soccer excellence and sportsmanship.

Dave Bucciero, the tournament director for this year’s College Showcase is anxiously awaiting for the festivities to begin. “We are excited to host all of the talented teams coming to Loudoun County. This year will feature our largest number of attending college coaches and will be great exposure for all players. Our College Showcase has grown into an important event for all players interested in continuing their careers at the college level.”

The 2020 tournament includes 4,368 total players, and has matches held across 13 different sites throughout the county. Over 100 college coaches will attend this prestigious event with over 700 volunteers. Over 1,145 room-nights across 16 Loudoun County hotels have been booked by our-of-town teams.

Torye Hurst, Loudoun Sports Tourism Director of Sports & Services, is a supporter of the event, and feels the remarkable growth of soccer is a benefit to our community. “I have seen the Loudoun Soccer Showcase grow through the years and with that growth has been the tremendous impact on tourism,” Hurst said. “College Showcase teams book over 1,100 rooms in Loudoun hotels and generate $1 million in economic impact demonstrating what a great event this has become for both the participants and for the county.”

Each team is guaranteed three games spread across Friday, Saturday and Sunday in locations central to Loudoun County in Northern Virginia. As in past years, this tournament will be inspire many players to live out their soccer dreams, while making opportunities for others to do the same.
