Former LSU standout Alexis Urch hired as Youth Director for Sting-Austin

Sting-Austin Soccer Club has announced the hiring of Alexis Urch as the club’s new Youth Director effective, May 1st.

Urch is tasked with overseeing the Academy (U10 and younger) and Recreational programs within the organization. Having spent the last year with Sting-Austin, Urch is well versed with the mission and philosophy of the club.

A talented and accomplished player herself, Urch was a team captain at youth level and led her team to the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) U-15 national championship in 2011. The following year, she was named to the U-16 All-Event Team at the 2011-12 ECNL National Showcase Event Series. She was one of the top defender recruits in the country and chose LSU as her college destination.

Urch currently holds her USSF D License, engages throughly in club education programs and already has her sights on the USSF C License.

“I’m proud to see Alexis excel and progress within the Sting-Austin organization,” said Club Director JD Cochran. “Her professionalism, passion for the game and our youth, organizational skills and soccer talent make her a perfect choice to take a lead role in inspiring the next generation of Sting-Austin players.”

Sting-Austin wishes to thank Brad Matheny for his professionalism and expertise during his tenure, as he transitions out of the role.
