CSU Bakersfield adds Icelandic midfielder Regielly Halldorsdottir on transfer from Troy
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Head coach of CSU Bakersfield women’s soccer Sebastian Vecchio signed Troy University transfer Regielly Halldorsdottir.
Vecchio highlighted what the Iceland native adds to the roster saying, “Regielly brings a wealth of experience internationally and at the Division I level. She is a very technical midfielder, with great vision, and a powerful shot. ”

Hallforsdottir has had quite a journey to end up on the soccer team at Bakersfield. She gained valuable experience from youth national team training camps in Iceland ahead of her high school career at Kvenaskolinn i Reykjavik.
Hallforsdottir graduated and left Hofn, Iceland for Alabama to play for James Ged at Troy University. As a freshman, Regielly helped the Trojans get passed the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament – for the first time since 2015.
A quality student off the pitch, Hallforsdottir was recognized on the Provost List.
