Coastal Carolina men’s soccer coaching staff finalized for 2020 season

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University men’s soccer head coach Shaun Docking has announced the completion of his coaching staff with the additions of Oliver Slawson and Chris Fidler.

Slawson will serve as the Chanticleers associate head coach and comes to CCU from Ashland University where he served as the head coach after starting the program from scratch in 2016. In just three years, he 2018 he led Ashland to a championship title win in the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament and earned the program’s first-ever NCAA Division II Championship Tournament berth.

Under his guidance, Ashland was also successful in the classroom as the Eagles were a Collegiate Team Academic Award winner by the United Soccer Coaches for the third consecutive year in 2018-19.

Fidler will serve as an assistant coach with the Chants and comes to CCU after serving on the coaching staff at the University of Incarnate Word for eight years, including serving as the Interim Head Coach in both 2018 and 2019. From 2012-1, he was the goalkeeper coach at UIC.

Five of his former players have enterd the pro ranks worldwide, while he has also been a goalkeeper development director at the San Antonio City Soccer Club, which is an affiliate of San Antonio FC.
