CCL and VPSL join forces for PRO23 league starting in Summer 2023
Charlottesville, VA – The Club Champions League (CCL) and Virginia Premier Soccer League (VPSL) have announced a partnership of their U23 programs to reign as the new PRO23 league, starting Summer 2023.
This collaboration will allow for the region’s best competitive environment for continuous development for those who want to stay sharp during the Summer months for their upcoming Fall seasons. The PRO23 administrative staff will schedule 5-6 matches regionally, limiting travel as much as possible. The season will begin the weekend of May 20-21 and will culminate July 8-9 with the PRO23 Final Four for Men’s and Women’s teams.
“Providing a summer platform for top youth players and college players to return to club soccer and provide quality, matchday competition is what PRO23 is all about. We’ve been doing this for years now and it is one of our most successful points of our portfolio. The decision to collaborate is in the best interest of the players, families, coaches, and clubs,” said Brian Kuk, CCL Executive Director.
VPSL Lead Administrator, Mike Cullina, reiterated the sentiment and added, “This partnership will provide an opportunity for teams in the Maryland, D.C., and Virginia the best localized, and geographically appropriate competition while creating a unique environment for top players this summer.”
PRO23 is now accepting teams interested in participating from the Maryland, D.C., and Virginia areas.
