ALBION SC’s Ashlyn Puerta reclassifies to Class of 2024, signing with Florida State

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State Soccer head Coach Brian Pensky announced the signing of midfielder Ashlyn Puerta out of San Diego, Calif.

Puerta will reclassify and graduate high school a year early and will be with the Seminoles this upcoming season. Puerta is one of the more decorated young athletes of the game and has already had a plethora of experience in both the U.S and in Europe. Puerta was considered to be the No. 19 player in the TopDrawerSoccer 2025 recruiting rankings, prior to reclassifying.

After spending the spring and summer of 2023 training with NJ/NY Gotham FC and various teams in Spain and Portugal, Puerta has spent the 23/24 academic year playing with ALBION SD MLS Next Boys Team.

Puerta was a member of the U15 U.S Women’s Youth National Team that was CONCACAF Champions in 2022. In five games, Puerta tallied five goals in three assists to help the U.S. win the tournament. Puerta earned camp invites for the U16 USWYNT last year and the U17 USWYNT this year.

In 2022, Puerta was the U16 National MVP for the Girls Academy League and also won the National Championship with ALBION 06 Girls Academy.
