Potomac area teams fared well this weekend in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy across the U-13/14, U-15/16 and U-17/18 age groups. Bethesda-Olney teams went a combined 3-0-0, Richmond United's U-13/14s and Baltimore Bays Chelsea U-17/18s each earned a win, and PWSI Courage scored a late equalizer to draw D.C. United 2-2 in a thrilling U-13/14 contest on Sunday.
Generation adidas Cup to feature U-12 small-sided tournament
PSW: Major League Soccer today announced that it will host an inaugural small-sided U-12 tournament in conjunction with the 2014-15 Generation adidas Cup in Frisco, Texas from April 2-4. Eight MLS academies including D.C. United will participate in the 7-v-7 competition, along with Mexican club Queretaro FC and Club America USA – the U.S.-based affiliate of the Mexican giant. The three-day tournament will be held at FC Dallas’ Toyota Soccer Center. id2 training camp in California forms foundation for current id2 age groups cycle
A total of 106 players from 66 clubs across the country participated in the id² Training Camp held at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., March 26-29. This was the first id2 Training Camp of the cycle, targeting boys born in 2002 and girls born in 2001.
