Bay Area Surf ECNL goalkeeper Bianca Dominguez signs with Duke

DURHAM – Duke women’s soccer head coach Robbie Church announced the addition of goalkeeper Bianca Dominguez to the 2023 recruiting class.

A 5-6 product of Hercules, Calif., Dominguez attends Hercules High School and currently plays for the Bay Area Surf ECNL in Northern California.

“We’re excited to be able to add Bianca into a Duke soccer family,” said Church.  “She represents everything we look for in a player. Bianca is a very good student, is an extremely hard worker and plays on a really good club team in the Bay Area. She has overcome some injuries the past couple of years.  We feel she is going to come in and be able to compete in a really strong goalkeeper position for our team next season.  Bianca is going to bring a lot to our team dynamics and our team culture and we’re excited to have her.”

Dominguez also played for the Girls Academy League (2020-22) and prior to that competed for the Development Academy (2018-20) in Northern California.  She also played ODP and PDP for Cal North prior to joining the Development Academy.  She participated in three U.S. Youth National Team Identification camps from 2019-21.  This past summer she played for the Bay Area Surf and received WPSL All-PAC North Conference accolades.  Dominguez plans on playing for the San Francisco Glens in the USL-W League in the summer of 2023.

With the addition of Dominguez, the Blue Devils’ freshman class now features eight newcomers for the 2023 campaign — Cameron RollerMia MinestrellaKiera ClemensPhoebe GoldthwaiteMadison FoxhovenSam Bodensteiner and Kaeden Koons-Perdikis.  Church has also added a pair of transfers to the mix welcoming goalkeeper Leah Freeman and midfielder/defender Kati Druzina for next season.
