Georgetown standout Jenna Menta joins Wake Forest as graduate transfer

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Head coach Tony da Luz and the Wake Forest women’s soccer team have announced the addition of BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year Jenna Menta, who joins the Demon Deacons as a graduate transfer after competing for four years at Georgetown.

A native of Somers, N.Y., Menta appeared in 76 matches over four seasons with the Hoyas, collecting 40 points on 11 goals and 18 assists. As a senior in 2020-21, she led Georgetown to the NCAA Tournament Round of 16. She netted five goals and led the team with eight assists in her senior campaign with BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year honors. Menta collected three game-winning goals, including an overtime goal in the BIG EAST Championship and last-minute goal in the NCAA Second Round against South Carolina.

“We’re very excited to have Jenna join our family,” da Luz said. “Jenna arrives from Georgetown with a wealth of BIG EAST and NCAA Tournament experience. Her honors include BIG EAST All-Freshman Team in 2017 and 2020-21 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year. She will have a major immediate impact in our attack this fall. Jenna is a fast, physical winger who blows by defenders with her speed and acceleration. She produces precise powerful crosses, and she delivers goals and assists in big pressure games. I know she is motivated to prove herself in the ACC and I have no doubt that she will this fall.”

Menta was also named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team in her rookie season with five goals and five assists. She saw action in 21 matches and made her first start against St. John’s and scored her first career goal against George Washington.

She joins a young Wake Forest team that includes 29 underclassmen and seven upperclassmen.
