SoccerWire: What made you decide to verbally commit to Wake Forest?

Sonoma Bever: I committed to Wake Forest because of the amazing coaching staff they have there, the academics, the location, and that they are in the ACC.

SW: What was the recruiting process like and what did you learn about yourself while going through it?

SB: The recruiting process was very stressful for me. Always texting and calling coaches was stressful, but it will definitely help me in the future in finding jobs and such. It was a very good learning experience by talking to people and it was also very cool to see what coaches had to say about me as a player!

SW: How do you feel your strengths on the field will help the Demon Deacons?

SB: I think my strengths of being able to score goals from anywhere and helping others get in the run of play will help the Demon Deacons do very well in the ACC.

SW: When did you first start playing forward and what do you like most about the position?

SB: I started out playing as a winger when I was very young, but about 2 years ago my club coach switched me to center forward and I have just been playing it Ever since. I love the part of just scoring goals and helping my team win.

SW: What do you think you would like to study in college?

SB: In college I want to study business

SW: Outside of soccer, what clubs, organizations, and/or jobs are you involved in?

SB: In the summer I was a lifeguard at the pool in my neighborhood, and also in the summer I run a soccer camp for little kids in my neighborhood and I train them.

SW: What are your favorite pair of cleats that you have ever owned?

SB: Nike Mecurials.

SW: What has your experience been like playing for SC Wave so far?

SB: It has been amazing, I have found some of my bestfriends here and have been coached by amazing people and coaches.

SW: If you could give one piece of advice to a younger player that wants to play at a high level what would it be?

SB: To never give up and keep working, because at some point it might seem like nothing is working, but you have to keep practicing and giving your all everyday and you will get there.

SW: Is there anyone that you would like to give a shoutout to who has helped you both on and off of the field?

SW: My family, coaches and my teammates.
