OMG! What a Goal! Matt Lowton scores chest volley screamer against Stoke City [Video Highlights]
Aston Villa’s Matt Lowton scored not only an extremely important goal for his club on Saturday against Stoke City, but it might also be a candidate for goal of the year.
With the score tied 1-1, Lowton received the ball in the air around 30 yards out, took it off his chest, then cracked an incredible volley past the Stoke goalkeeper. As Aston Villa looks to avoid relegation from the English Premier League, the game-winner proved extremely important for the club.
“I don’t think you will see a better goal in Europe let alone anywhere else than Matt Lowton’s,” said Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert. “The technique, chest control and volley was outstanding. He has played every minute of every game in the league and he has been outstanding.”
