Winless Colorado Rapids fire head coach Anthony Hudson

(Via Colorado Rapids) – Colorado Rapids Soccer Club announced Wednesday that Anthony Hudson has been relieved of his duties as head coach.
“We appreciate Anthony’s commitment to the Rapids organization during his time with the club,” said Rapids Executive Vice President & General Manager, Pádraig Smith. “This is a pivotal period in the development of our team and it’s in the club’s best interest to make a change now. We still have a lot of season left and we look forward to getting back on track.”
Assistant coach Conor Casey has been named interim head coach while the club undertakes a search for Hudson’s permanent replacement. Casey rejoined the Rapids as an assistant coach on January 26, 2017, seven years after helping the club hoist its first-ever MLS Cup in 2010, where he earned MLS Cup MVP honors.
Hudson, the eighth full-time Rapids head coach in franchise history, went 8-26-9 in MLS league play since joining Colorado in November of 2017.
