Wake Forest men’s soccer adds goalkeeper Jake Nicoll to signing class

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest men’s soccer has added Jake Nicoll to the 2021 signing class, as the goalkeeper will be joining the Demon Deacons from The Pingry School.

“We are excited to add Jake to our 2021 recruiting class,” said associate head coach Dane Brenner. “Jake is a gifted goalkeeper from New Jersey that will be a great addition to our talented goalkeeping core. He brings with him a fiery competitiveness and experiences training overseas in France that will serve him well in our program.

“We are eager to see what he can add to our program this fall and look forward to having him on campus.”

During the 2020 season, Nicholl helped lead Pingry to a top-25 ranking in New Jersey while recording four shutouts. Prior to that, he played overseas in France for Fréjus Saint Raphael FC U-23.

He is the 10th member of this year’s No. 3 nationally ranked signing class, joining Babacar Niang, Ryan Fessler, Bo Cummins, Roald Mitchell, Trace Alphin, Leo Guarino, Nicolas MancillaJulian Kennedy and Tareq Shihab. The staff is continuing to work hard to finalize the class in the next few months.
