Virginia Intermont College holding tryouts for women’s team

On Saturday April 28, 2012, Virginia Intermont College will hold an open tryout for girls interested in playing intercollegiate women’s soccer this upcoming fall season (2012) and those who wish to be considered for 2013.

The tryout is open to high school seniors and anyone eligible to play soccer beyond high school including girls that are juniors who will graduate in 2013. Prospective transfer students are also invited. The tryout will take place Saturday April 28th, 2012 at Sugar Hollow Park from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is free to all participants.

“This is a great opportunity for students in the area that still wish to play soccer beyond high school,” said Head Coach Katy Stigers. “There are a lot of local athletes out there that haven’t had the chance to showcase their skills, so we want to offer that opportunity.”
