USYNT star Kennedy Fuller turns pro on cusp of 17th birthday, signing with Angel City FC

U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team midfielder Kennedy Fuller has signed with NWSL club Angel City FC through 2026 with an option through 2027, via the NWSL’s U-18 Entry Mechanism.

Fuller, who turns 17 this Saturday, March 9, joins the club as the second youngest player to sign a contract in ACFC history, next to Casey Phair, who is three months and 20 days younger.

“I’m so thrilled to join such a unique and diverse team in Angel City,” stated Fuller. “Being able to play with some of the best players in the world is such an amazing opportunity, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.

“Kennedy embodies the boundless excitement of youth reflective of the new direction of our sport at the professional level,” said ACFC General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano. “She already possesses a tactical level of understanding beyond her years of experience, and that combined with her clean technique is a fantastic addition to our team.”

Prior to Fuller’s trial period with ACFC, she trained with several NWSL clubs, including North Carolina Courage, Kansas City Current, and San Diego Wave FC. At the end of 2023, she also spent three weeks training with Chelsea FC women, under newly appointed USWNT Head Coach Emma Hayes.

The 2023 Gatorade National Girls Soccer Player of the Year has served as captain of the U-17 U.S. Women’s National Team, earning eight goals in five appearances, leading the squad to the 2024 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship title in Mexico, while also qualifying for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup tournament. She also helped the U.S. U-16 Women’s National Team win the Mondial Montaigu Tournament in France.

Originally from Southlake, Texas, Fuller announced her commitment to play at University of North Carolina beginning in the fall of 2024. In fact, she completed high school in two and a half years in an effort to enroll in college early. In her final season at Southlake Carroll High School, Fuller contributed 55 goals and 26 assists over a 29–1 season, leading her team to a district title. She also won 2023 state and district MVP honors, Gatorade’s Texas Player of the Year, and the Dallas Morning News’s Soccer Player of the Year.
