US Club Soccer National Cup XX South Central Regional champions crowned

The first Regional of US Club Soccer’s National Cup XX slate concluded on Monday, June 14, after four days of competition at Mohawk Sports Complex in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the end, 20 champions representing 12 clubs reigned victorious in the third annual South Central Regional.

Held June 11-14, the tournament featured 13-U through 19-U boys and girls teams competing among Super Group (most competitive) and Premier Group divisions. In total, 120 teams from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, and Colorado all participated in the event.

All 20 champions (listed below) have now earned qualification to the National Cup XX Finals, to be held July 16-20 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado. Leading the way were Sting FC (Texas) and West Side Alliance (Oklahoma), which claimed three regional titles. Oklahoma Energy FC (Oklahoma), Blitz United SC (Oklahoma), KC Legends (MO) and Arkansas Comets FC (AR) all earned a pair of divisions.

A few age groups were competitive from top to bottom. The U-19 Boys Premier Group had five of six matches decided by one goal or less, while the U-19 Boys Super Group has seven of 12 matches decided by the same margins. The same tight margin accompanied in seven of 10 games in the U-13 Girls Super Group.

National Cup XX Regionals action continues this upcoming weekend with the Midwest and Southeast Regionals. The West Regional was cancelled this year due to COVID-19. The remaining Regional events schedule is as follows:
