U.S. U-15 Boys National Team overpowers Guatemala, 3-0, in Concacaf Championship

Bradenton, Fla. – The U.S. U-15 Boys National Team continued their strong play in the Concacaf U-15 Championship group stage, defeating Guatemala 3-0 on Monday morning.

Víctor Váldez put the USA on top early, opening the scoring in the 10th minute with what proved to be the game-winning goal.

Only six minutes later, Osvaldo Cisneros, pushed the USA’s lead to 2-0, with another goal in the 16th minute.

After the USA took a 2-0 lead into halftime, Rafael Jauregui found the net in the 55th minute to finish off the scoring, pushing the lead to 3-0.

Meanwhile, the defense remained rock solid as they secured their second consecutive clean sheet in Group B. Goalkeeper Damia Alguera, wearing the captain’s armband, played the full 80 minutes in net. Outside back Devan Tanton and center back Antonio Leone each played the entire match on the back line.

The U.S. U-15s are now 2-0-0 through two group games, having outscored opponents by a margin of 5-0. They will conclude the group stage on Wednesday, Aug. 7 against Suriname.
