Training ‘Up’: D.C. United, Richmond Kickers academy players practice with first team
Collin Martin, a standout on D.C. United’s U-18 academy, U.S. U-20s and soon heading to Wake Forest, had an opportunity to train with United’s first team recently and recounts the experience.
But he’s not the only youth product to train with his club’s first team.
Richmond Kickers academy players Finnlay Wyatt, Evan Fowler and Vaughn Fowler recently trained with the USL PRO side as they prepared for last weekend’s game at Wilmington.
All three, according to the Kickers, are receiving attention from several Division I schools, with Wyatt, who is from Sheffield and has played in academy programs in England (Barnsley FC, Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday) having been offered a contract at Sheffield Wednesday.
