Top-level U.S. Soccer referees hosting free Zoom presentation on July 12

By Adam Schwager
SoccerWire Staff Writer and Certified Referee

Building off the success from his previous presentation on tournament assignments, USSF Assignor Jesse Rosenthal will be hosting another referee instructional presentation on July 12 at 8pm EST, this time focusing on proper corner kick procedure.

Presenters will include MLS Referee Shak Hill, West Virginia state director of assignments Kevin Nicholson, and senior referees Corey Yerace and Jeremy Zehr, from Pennsylvania and Maryland, respectively.

“Our intent is to strengthen the referee community both within our respective assignment areas and for stakeholders outside our region,” Rosenthal said. “We had 14 states represented in the first session, which is posted on YouTube.”

The corner kick presentation will feature several examples from the top competitions across the world, including the ongoing Euro 2020 and Copa America tournaments. The interactive format is also a perfect place for referees of all experience levels to talk through thought processes and ask any questions that they may have come across over the course of the season.

To register for the Zoom session, RSVP here. Similar to the prior educational session, a recording of this presentation will be available on YouTube shortly afterwards for those who cannot make it. The presentation series will continue throughout the summer, including two dates already announced from August 9 and August 23.
