SYA Alliance wins U-19 boys SYA Cardinal Cup title

SYA Alliance went undefeated on its way to taking the 2012 SYA Cardinal Cup Under-19 boys title, defeating Richmond Strikers Elite 3-1 in the final.

Other champions included:

Boys U-9 Red – St. Mary’s United Warriors Red (Md.) 4-0-0

Boys U-10 – SYA Cardinals Red U-10 Boys (Va.) def. SYA Cardinals White 02 (Va.) 6-3 in the final. Cardinals Red went 4-0-0 in the tournament.

Boys U-11 8v8 – Richmond Strikers Elite took the title with a 2-0 win over Reston 2001 United Blue.

Boys U-12 White 8v8 – FSCI Phoenix Orange defeated Loudoun Quicksilver 3-0 in the final, going 4-0-0 over the weekend.

Boys U-12 Red 8v8 – Loudoun 00B Black defeated Richmond Strikers Elite 2-1 in the final.

Boys U-13 Red – SYA Cardinals finished atop the group at 4-0-0.

Boys U-13 White – VISTA Blackwatch defeated SYA Cardinal White 5-4 in the final after three of the four teams in the group finished with identical 2-1-0 marks, including FCSC United 99 Black.

• Boys U-14 Red – VSA Heat defeated Richmond Strikers Elite 4-1 in the final after the two teams played to a 1-1 tie in group play.

Boys U-14 White – Middletown Valley Knight Riders of Maryland defeated BAC Mustangs of  Virginia 4-0 in the final after going 2-0-1 in group play.

• Boys U-15 Red – SYA Cardinals 97 Red dominated its group by winning all four games it played. Three other teams finished with 2-2-0 marks, including ABGC United, Richmond Strikers Elite and Reston Crushers.

Boys U-15 Black – VBSC LFC Destroyers finished atop its group with 12 points, to 11 for BAC Cyclones, though both teams finished with identical 3-0-1 records.

• Boys U-16 Red – Sterling FC Elite Black 96 defeated SYA Ajax Red 2-0 in the final after finishing 1-0-2 in group play. SYA Ajax was 2-0-1 in group play.

Boys U-16 White – Dynamo SC Navy took top honors witha  3-0-1 record, while VISTA International FC and Reston Internationals White tied for second with 2-1-1 marks.

Boys U-17 – Burke AC Real Blue defeated SYA Excel Red in the final, 2-0.

• Girls U-19 – Chantilly SC Revolution 95 defeated FC Virginia Courage 94 1-0 in the final.

Girls U-12 – Thunder SC Blitz Ajax defeated Ajax 2-0 in the final in one group, while SYA Cardinals 01 White West defeated SYA Cardinals White East 3-1 in the other.

Girls U-13 – Richmond Strikers Elite defeated SYA FCV Cardinals 00 Red 2-0 in the final, going undefeated and unscored upon over the weekend.

Girls U-14 Red – SYA FCV 98 defeated Richmond Strikers ECNL 2-0 in the final. SYA FCV 98 also defeated the Strikers 4-1 in the two teams’ opening match.

Girls U-14 White – SYA FCV 99 dominated the group, going 4-0-0 and outscoring its opponents 34-0.

Girls U-15 Red – Richmond Strikers Elite defeated SYA Cardinals 97 Red 1-0 in the championship game. Both teams went 2-0-0 on its way to the final.

Girls U-16 – FPYC Wildcats Blue defeated Arlington Athletica Red 1-0 in the final.
