SLSG – Illinois names Jarius Holmes as ECNL Girls Regional League Director
Collinsville, IL – St. Louis Scott Gallagher (SLSG) has announced the appointment of Jarius Holmes as the new ECNL Regional League Girls Director of the Illinois division.
He will lead the SLSG ECNL Regional League Program and coach the ECNL RL U15 and ECNL RL U19 teams.
Holmes will be joining the organization this upcoming season from Metro East Legacy FC where he served as the club’s Technical Director. In addition to his club experience, Holmes formally was an assistant Coach for Lindenwood University-Belleville, Southwestern Illinois College, Fire and Ice WPSL and O’Fallon Township High School. In 2017, Jarius help to lead Fire and Ice Soccer Club to clinch the WPSL National Title in San Diego, CA.
Prior to coaching, Holmes has played at various levels including collegiately and professionally in the United Soccer League (USL). As a youth player, Holmes played for Metro United Soccer Club for Dale Schilly and Dave Fernandez. Once he graduated from O’Fallon Township High School, Holmes went onto Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville where he played at the Junior College level for 2 years before advancing to play with McKendree University. While attending McKendree University, Holmes also played for St Louis Lions until 2009 when he joined the Austin Aztex. Holmes holds his National D Coaching License, Advanced Youth Coaching License as well as his Goalkeeper 1 & 2 license.

Jarius has been working with us for the past 4 years and has a wealth of coaching experience from the youth to collegiate level. Through this relationship, I have come to know Jarius and how he can assist us in pursuing our mission statement,” said Shawn Hewitt, SLSG Illinois Program Director.
