San Juan SC player Emily Counter commits to Pacific

(Via University of the Pacific) – Pacific women’s soccer and Pacific Track and Field announced the signing of Emily Counter, an athlete from Modesto that will compete for both teams starting in 2019-20. Counter, who is currently a senior at James C. Enochs High School in Modesto, is a four-sport athlete competing in soccer, track and field, volleyball and basketball.
As a soccer player, Counter played as a forward, outside defender and goalkeeper at James C. Enochs. For the last two years, she’s played her club soccer for San Juan South and has also featured for Ajax United and Manteca FC where she earned an award for her leadership. Counter will play in defense for Pacific.
In track, Counter competed mostly in the high jump, long jump and triple jump as well as the 100-yard dash. She will compete in the long jump.
Counter was a libero and setter for James C. Enochs volleyball team and played as a guard for her basketball team, which she helped to the second round of the CIF State Playoffs.
Academically, Counter plans to study elementary education and will pursue a career as an elementary school teacher.
