Over 50 US Club Soccer coaches complete LaLiga Formation Methodology Level 2 course

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fifty-one coaches representing 21 clubs spanning six states participated in a LaLiga Formation Methodology Level 2 course, hosted by Ohio Premier Soccer Club, July 29-31 at the Ohio Premier Training Facility in Plain City.

LaLiga Formation Methodology is world-class coaching education, led by a team of methodology experts that share developmental principles, philosophies and tactics used in LaLiga academies. There are four stages of the coaching series, beginning with Level 3 (introductory), and then progressing to Level 2 (advanced), Level 1-U.S. (expert) and Level 1-Spain (expert).

The 20+ hour course included field, classroom and workshop sessions that challenged participating coaches to rethink their long-term club curriculum and day-to-day training sessions. LaLiga methodology experts Carlos Casal López, LaLiga Soccer Projects Coordinator, and Saúl Vázquez Chas, Senior Specialist in Football Programs, led the course. To date, there have been 20 LaLiga Formation Methodology courses since the series’ inception in 2016. More than 1,500 coaches from 400 clubs have been educated, and hundreds have progressed beyond the Level 3 introductory stage.

LaLiga Formation Methodology is a staple of the US Club Soccer/LaLiga partnership, which stems from US Club Soccer’s Players First initiative.
