New York Club Soccer League holds eighth PDP event of season

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Via US Club Soccer) – The New York Club Soccer League conducted its eighth Player Development Program (PDP) event of the season, May 3 in Brooklyn, N.Y. It was hosted by the NPL’s Brooklyn Italians.

More than 50 players with 2000-02 birth years were invited to participate. In conjunction with the current id2 Program cycle, which targets top boys born in 2002 and girls born in 2001, top performers from this PDP event in the appropriate age groups will be considered for fall id2 Training Camps. The dates and locations of those fall camps will be announced soon.

John Curtis, technical director of the New York Club Soccer League, led a group of experienced coaches to deliver high-caliber sessions at the PDP event. The sessions challenged players technically and tactically.

“During the course of the season, the quality of the players involved in the program has gradually increased,” Curtis said. “Our clubs are recognizing the significant benefit to their players and are being extremely supportive. The regularity and quality of the NYCSL PDP provides a true development program that complements the work that the players receive from their NYCSL club.”
